Clear answers about the brands in this collection, movements, water resistance, sizes, limited editions and everyday care.

Still have a question?
01Which brands are in this collection?

Five independent watch brands, each with its own character: Spinnaker for dive watches, Cadola for racing chronographs, Duxot for everyday automatics, AVI-8 for aviation-inspired pilot watches and Thomas Earnshaw for classic and skeleton dress watches.

02What is the difference between automatic and quartz?

Automatic watches wind themselves with the movement of your wrist, so they never need a battery. If you take one off for a day or two it may stop; just give it a few turns of the crown and set the time.

Quartz watches run on a battery, keep very precise time and are ready to wear at any moment. Each product page tells you which movement the watch uses.

03What does 5 ATM or 10 ATM water resistance mean?

5 ATM (50 m) handles rain, splashes and hand washing. 10 ATM (100 m) and above are made for swimming and snorkelling.

Always keep the crown pushed in or screwed down before contact with water, and avoid hot showers, saunas and pressing the chronograph buttons underwater.

04Which size will suit my wrist?

Look at the lug to lug length as well as the case diameter: it tells you how much of your wrist the watch covers. As a guide, up to 40 mm suits most wrists, while 42–44 mm gives a bolder look.

Case size, thickness and lug to lug are listed in the specifications of every watch.

05How do limited editions work?

Limited editions are made in a fixed number of pieces, shown in the name of the watch (for example, "Limited Edition of 150"). When they are gone, they are usually not made again, so the most popular ones sell out fast.

06Can I change the strap?

Yes. Each watch lists its strap width in the specifications (usually 20 mm or 22 mm). Any strap with the same width will fit, so you can switch between leather, rubber, nylon or steel to match the occasion.

07How should I care for my watch?

Wipe the case with a soft cloth, keep leather straps away from water and perfume, and rinse the watch with fresh water after the sea or the pool. Keep it away from strong magnets, and have automatic watches serviced by a watchmaker every few years to keep them running at their best.
